so...

Sorry for the lack of updates, been a bit busy ;-)
Came home yesterday. We were all a bit surprised on just how long it took to get everything together to be released. Birth certificate information, application for Social Security Card/Number, ritual cutting of the wristbands so Security doesn't try to destroy you when you leave. the hospital sent us home with a baked chicken and pasta dinner and our own bottle of sparkling grape juice. I'll upload a pic later that shows vintage and all that good stuff - a very nice touch if I do say so myself.
All in all it took about 3 hours just to get out the door. We bundled Sophia up in her car seat with a VERY warm fleece "BundleMe" I was jealous, my jacket just wasn't cutting it. We brought her home and introduced to all the wonderful potential messes she'll have the opportunity to create; we're a far cry from a baby-proof house.
She's eating and sleeping well, last night being the first night home, Sophia got more sleep that Angela or I did. I think she rested well, but there were a lot of sighs and whimpers that wake up brand new parents immediately. Did a feeding @ 11PM, 2AM and again a 5AM. As someone who doesn't fall asleep very quickly, mixed with the inherent nerves, not a recipe for a restful night. The first of many I understand. I do think we have bred a nocturnal child - she sleeps more fitfully during the day that she does at night.
I did get a few more videos uploaded, you should see those on the left.
Sophia had her first visit to the Dr today, He gave her a good bill of health, said her color was good, she'd put on 4oz since discharge when she was down to 6# 10oz. Apparently it's common for the child to be discharged weighing less, then gain all of it back within a week, so we're on the right track. A few friends have stopped by already - and brought food ;-) I can't say that our diet has been great, though Angela and I did have a health breakfast of multigrain Cheerios (yum).
All in all, just trying to keep ahead of what Sophia needs - or at the very least not get too far behind. She's sleeping now in her crib after a yummy meal.
I'll add some more pics tonight.
Ciao-

-Matt
